uma história para inspirar um novo ano

então mais um ano chega ao fim.

e todo final de ano, a gente pensa no que gostaria de pedir na hora da virada, aquele desejo especial para 2012.

eu já tenho um desejo. assumo que, nesse próximo ano, eu desejo o amor. e pensando nesse desejo, me lembrei de uma das experiências mais incríveis que vivi quando morei na itália.

estou falando da minha ida à verona, a terra de romeu e julieta.

não que eu esteja desejando esse amor de final trágico, afinal, como eu mesma escrevi no e-mail para a julieta: "quero viver um amor como o seu com romeu, mas sem a parte do suicídio, porque essa coisa de se matar não faz o meu estilo".

(esqueça a história de "cartas para julieta". o mundo lá agora é moderno. a julieta te atende via e-mail!)

de qualquer forma, estar diante da "casa di giulietta", onde teria vivido a julieta verdadeira, é emocionante. (para mais informações sobre visitas ao local clique aqui)

apesar de lotado, o lugar não perde seu ar romântico...

claro que eu entrei na casa da moça, e fui até a famosa sacada, onde ela e romeu se encontravam.

eu visitei toda a casa, que na verdade agora é um museu. vi a sala, o quarto, a cozinha...

e também vi os figurinos do filme "romeu e julieta", de 1968, dirigido por franco zeffirelli! (a cama que está no quarto também é do filme)

claro que, como boa turista, segui a tradição de colocar a mão no seio da estátua da julieta para ter sorte no amor. é sério gente! reza a lenda que a estátua da moça tem esse poder. achei melhor não quebrar a tradição. vai que é verdade, né?

não há nenhuma prova concreta de que romeu e julieta existiram de verdade. essa casa, localizada na via capello 23, pertencia à família cappelletti (pronuncia-se capuleti, no dialeto local). sabe-se também da existência dos montecchi, uma importante família mercante, que realmente se envolveu em sangrentas lutas pelo controle do poder em verona.

o fato é que, verdadeira ou não, a história de amor de romeu e julieta, narrada tão belamente na obra de shakespeare, segue inspirando milhares de meninas mundo afora.

e continuará inspirando, ainda mais depois do filme "cartas para julieta".

confesso que eu me apaixonei por verona duas vezes. uma quando estive lá e outra quando vi esse filme (que eu recomendo, e MUITO, para as românticas e os românticos de plantão).

now is the moment to think about what you would like for your life in 2012, to make that special wish.

i have already thought about my wish. i assume, with no fear, that i want to find love in 2012. because of this desire, i remembered one of the most amazing experiences of my life.

i'm talking about my trip to verona, the place where romeo and juliet lived and fell in love.

but it doesn't mean that i want a love with a tragic ending; after all, as i wrote in the e-mail to juliet: "i want to live a love like yours, but without the suicide part, because this killing thing doesn't make my style".

although it's always crowded, the place doesn't lose its romantic air...

of course I got into the house of juliet, and i also went to the famous balcony where she used to go to see romeo.

i walked through the whole house, which was turned into a museum. i saw the room, the bedroom, the kitchen ...

i also saw the costumes from the movie "romeo and juliet" (1968), directed by franco zeffirelli! (the bed in the room is also from the film scenary).

as a good tourist, i followed the tradition of placing the hand in the breast of Juliet's statue to have luck in love. i'm serious! there is a legend which says that the statue of this young woman has this power. i decided not to break the tradition. it can be true, right?

there is no concrete proof that romeo and juliet actually existed. this house, located in via capello 23, belonged to the family cappelletti (pronounced capulet, in local dialect). it's also known the existence of a family named montecchi, a merchant family, who were really engaged in bloody battles to get the control of Verona.

whether it's true or not, the love story of romeo and juliet, so beautifully written by william shakespeare, continues to inspire millions of girls worldwide.

and the movie "letters to juliet" helped to bring this inspiration to the new generation.

i confess that i fell in love for verona twice. the first time when i was there and the second time when i saw this movie (which i recommend!).

all I know is that everyone should have the opportunity to go to verona at least once in a lifetime... (sigh-smiling)
